Production of monochloroacetic acid (MCAA).

PCC MCAA Sp. z o.o. is one of the key manufacturers of monochloroacetic acid in Europe, as well as of ultra-pure monochloroacetic acid (U-P MCAA) with a content of dichloroacetic acid (DCAA) not exceeding 90ppm.

As a company managed by PCC SE with its registered office in Duisburg, PCC MCAA Sp. z o.o. was established to construct a new and innovative plant, and to start manufacturing monochloroacetic acid (MCAA).

The plant was constructed in Brzeg Dolny in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone (WSEZ), thereby increasing the assortment of the PCC Group with a product launched on the continuously growing market.

The process conducted by PCC MCAA Sp. z o.o. uses the chlorine produced by PCC Rokita SA.

At the end of 2016, the start-up phase of the MCAA plant was completed. High-purity monochloroacetic acid has been regularly supplied to key customers since that time.

Since the beginning of 2017, the product has been subject to evaluation by new clients. Currently, the annual production capacity of the plant is 42 thousand tons of MCAA. The production and sales volume is being gradually increased.

Having a wide range of applications in many industries, the monochloroacetic acid produced in the plant is used to manufacture agricultural chemicals, plant protectants, fertilisers, plastics, detergents, and paint and varnishes.
